The office of Councilwoman Rosie Mendez has recently been informed that the United States Postal Service (USPS) has decided to close the current Peter Stuyvesant Station Post Office and relocate its retail services, commencing in February of 2014. We have been informed that the primary space they are seeking to relocate to is 333 East 14th Street (between 1st and 2nd Avenues) and they expect to offer the same range of retail services and keep the same hours. Anyone who wishes to oppose the initial decision to close the current location and relocate retail services has until June 28th to appeal. Appeals must (1) be put in writing, (2) identify the post office by name and/or location, (3) identify the decision objected to, (4) state the reason(s) for the objection and (5) be addressed to and sent via mail to:
Vice President, Facilities
C/O Facilities Implementation
2 Congress Street, Room 8
Milford, MA 01757
There will be a separate comment period when the USPS officially announces the final relocation site.
