East Village Community Shows Support for Mohammed Akash Ali

On the morning of June 19, 2013, a speeding, intoxicated driver crashed into the East Village Farms & Grocery flower stand on the corner of 2nd Avenue and 4th Street, in my district. The driver severely injured 62 year old flower shop operator Mohammed Akash Ali, a warm, friendly and well-known face in the East Village Community. My heart goes out to him, his family and each and every person who have been affected by these senseless acts.  A fund has been set up to cover Mr. Ali’s medical costs and to give his family peace of mind in this tremendously challenging time.  If you are interested in contributing to Mohammed Akash Ali’s emergency fund, please visit: https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/mvk2/aidforakkasaliandfamily
