SAGEWorks offers 3 career programs

SAGEWorks, a national employment support program targeted to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people ages 40 and older, is hosting three career programs – two workshops next week and the start of their boot camp in September – that are FREE and open to ALL job seekers ages 40 and up. Workshop on “Effectively Using Social Media In Your Job Search”

Social media has become a critical component in your job search—as more than 95 percent of employers use it as a recruitment tool! SAGEWorks will present a workshop titled “Effectively Using Social Media In Your Job Search”Tuesday, August 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The SAGE Center at 305 7th Avenue, 15th floor, in New York City.

SAGEWorks is designed for job seekers in the LGBT community and is open to people ages 40 and up. Tanya Rosario-Perez, a motivational career coach, will show participants how to use Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook to learn about job openings and connect with hiring managers and industry professionals.

Workshop on “Modern Job Networking”

Job searching can be about WHO you know as well as what you know. SAGEWorks will present a “Modern Job Networking” workshop, designed for job seekers in the LGBT community and open to people ages 40 and up, onThursday, August 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The SAGE Center at 305 7th Avenue, 15th floor, in New York City.

Tanya Rosario-Perez, a motivational career coach, will teach mature job seekers how to build up their professional networks by reconnecting with past colleagues and, more importantly, expanding their contact lists! SAGEWorks Boot Camp Seeks Enlistments for Job Training

Attention, job seekers ages 40 and up: If you are highly motivated and dedicated in your search in your employment, then SAGEWorks wants you as a new recruit in its SAGEWorks Boot Camp in New York City.

This two-week program is an intensive training course designed to provide participants with essential skills that will lead them to job placement. In return, “troops” are expected to complete the entire course schedule (Mondaythrough Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with times subject to change).

SAGEWorks Boot Camp will be based at The SAGE Center, 305 7th Avenue, in Manhattan. The first session starts on September 8. Subject to change, future dates are as follows: October 27, January 12, March 2, April 27 and June 8.

Howard Leifman will be the Boot Camp instructor. A Career and Executive Coach/Psychotherapist, Leifman has been working with individuals and organizations for over 20 years assisting them on their individual and human resources issues.

He currently works with a number of consulting firms and their clients, as well as managing a private practice and teaching at both NYU and LIM Colleges.

Enrollment in this ongoing Boot Camp is through an application process. In order to be considered, potential candidates are required to fully complete the registration form.

All applicants will be notified by email on their enrollment status. Those who aren’t selected to participate in SAGEWorks Boot Camp will still have access to other SAGEWorks services including one-on-one job coaching and workshops. To apply, visit http://bit.ly/SWBootCamp.
