NYC DOE: Enrollment Registration Centers Now Open

Beginning on September 1, temporary Student Registration Centers will open throughout the five boroughs to support families and their students. Student Registration Centers will be open from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., from September 1–18 (except for Labor Day, September 7, and Rosh Hashanah, September 14-15). Please note that Family Welcome Centers will be closed from September 1–18 and will reopen on September 21.

  • Elementary and middle schools: All new students with a zoned school, including those with a New York City Individualized Education Program (IEP), may register at their zoned school starting on September 9. Students who live in a neighborhood without zoned schools or students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from outside of New York City should visit a Student Registration Center in their borough. Students with more restrictive or specialized needs should visit a Committee on Special Education (CSE) location. To find a zoned school or a CSE location, families can call 311 or visit nyc.gov/schools.
  • High schools: All new students, including those with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), must register at one of the Student Registration Centers
