Beginning on September 1, temporary Student Registration Centers will open throughout the five boroughs to support families and their students. Student Registration Centers will be open from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., from September 1–18 (except for Labor Day, September 7, and Rosh Hashanah, September 14-15). Please note that Family Welcome Centers will be closed from September 1–18 and will reopen on September 21.
- Elementary and middle schools: All new students with a zoned school, including those with a New York City Individualized Education Program (IEP), may register at their zoned school starting on September 9. Students who live in a neighborhood without zoned schools or students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from outside of New York City should visit a Student Registration Center in their borough. Students with more restrictive or specialized needs should visit a Committee on Special Education (CSE) location. To find a zoned school or a CSE location, families can call 311 or visit nyc.gov/schools.
- High schools: All new students, including those with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), must register at one of the Student Registration Centers
